    poor bedside manner

    Hi,

Even the most skilled doctors can have a poor bedside manner.

What does "a poor bedside manner" mean?

    Re: poor bedside manner

Bedside manner means the general demeanor a physician has with his patient.
Some physicians are said to have a good bedside manner because they are perceived as kind, caring, listening and patient individuals.
Other physicians are said to have poor bedside manner if they are abrupt, come indelicately to the point, do not listen to their patients, or show little compassion.
