    Smile Article

"The Chongqing Airport is bigger than before."

I think "the" should be deleted , right?

I agree with you if the name of the airport is "Chongqing Airport". If, however, that is not the name of the airport and it's simply saying that the airport in Chongqing is bigger than before, then "the" is appropriate.

Heathrow Airport is (allegedly!) in London, and the following two statements are possible:

"Heathrow Airport is bigger than it used to be." Here, no "the" is required.

"The London airport is bigger than it used to be." Here, "the" is required. The sentence is ambiguous because there are several airports serving London so the statement would no doubt be followed by the question "Which London airport are you talking about?"
