Is it a good book to study for me?

Hello! I have a book that trace the prefix and root of the vocabulary.
I'm asking some advice if this book is worth studying(in my level) and if so,
which way would do good for me to study this book properly.

Someone once told me that this book is useful so that it's good for you to study.
But I think this book's got much higher level than the vocabulary which I'm learning in the english class.

the class teaches me some vocabularies like 'abstract, horizontal, geometric, combination', while the book has 'abjure, abominate, abnegate, agile, embark, embellish, alacrity' things; It's even a thick book and to be honest, It's difficult.....but some words seems very useful.

and about the prefix and root things, I'll show you the examples of the book.

    "abandon [ab<ad(to)+bandon(control)] <meaning>
syn. relinquish, quit, renounce, forsake, give up ant. retain

    abet [a<ad(to)+bet(bait)] <meaning>
    n. abetment n. abettor
syn. incite, instigate, provoke, stir up, set on ant. prohibit"

do I need to study harder with this book?
I really don't know how to study a book like this properly and efficiently; what do I have to ignore in this book?

    Well... I don't know exactly. :(
Could my writing skill represent my level?; I'm not good at it.

Re: Is it a good book to study for me?

What is the exact name of the book and who wrote it?
    Is it a thesaurus, perhaps?

Yes, right. There's also a thesaurus.
It's written by a korean so, I guess there might not be information.
It's name is MD 33000(just in case).

But except that, I have some '~ In Use' books from Cambridge University Press...
Do you need any further information or example of the book?

Re: Is it a good book to study for me?

What a strange name for a book! I'm still not quite clear what it is. If it gives the origin and etymology of words along with roots and suffix information, and it has a thesaurus, it seems like it might be a bit too much information. In my personal opinion, based on the content of your post, I would study a grammar-based book until you are happy with your grammar, spelling and punctuation. Information about words can be very interesting but not vital at this level.
