    Typhoon and hurricane are the same thing, but in different areas- Asia-Pacific has Typhoons, while the Gulf of Mxico and the West Coast of the US have hurricanes. A storm is high wind and heavy rain. A gale is a strong wind. Cloudburst is a period of heavy rain, and cyclone is a direction of movement. For exact definitions try here:
