Red face ''Having to clean it'' - ''seemed''

    Dear teachers,

I read two sentences in an article did not understand their meaning exactly,

1.I am thankful that snow arrived this late. I remembered how much I hate having to clean the car in the morning.

What is the function of - have in the sentece?

    2. It seemed to be incredible..
What is the function of -be ?

Would it be wrong 'if I say ''It seemed incredible'' ? What is the difference between two sentence then?

    Thank you for any input..

What is the function of - have in the sentece? The requirement to clean the snow off the car. Have here is used to indicated an obligation.

    2. It seemed to be incredible..
What is the function of -be ?

Would it be wrong 'if I say ''It seemed incredible'' ? What is the difference between two sentence then? Maybe. Maybe no difference. Could we see the entire sentence, please?

    Thank you for any input..
Regarding #2: Fragments make it hard to comment.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
