    Caseworker, clerk, administrator...?

I am writing about some field work, and I am in trouble finding the right word.

I want to designate a group of people working at a university. They have various tasks and titles, but they are all working with administration (internal finance, evaluating admissions, issuing accreditation, handling requests for promotion, vacation...).

Caseworker seems to be social workers only?
    Clerks?
    Administrative worker sounds strange?

    Please help!

    Thanks!

I am still struggling what a clerk is, can you please give me an indication of what is not clerk work but still "counts" as administrative staff work?

A typist, a secretary, an accountant - these are examples of members of staff who carry out administrative tasks, but are not called clerks.

Generally, all clerks carry out administrative tasks, but not everyone who carries out administrative tasks is a clerk.
