    Smile Help!

    Hello,

I would like to ask if there is any grammatical error in the sentence below:

"Santa died laughing after he learnt that you had burnt all the seven eggs."

    Thanks!

    It's fine grammatically.

    Re: Help!

Please give your posts more helpful titles, vardhan.

Santa died laughing would have been a good one for this thread.

I would like to ask if there is any grammatical error in the sentence below:

"Santa died laughing after he learnt that you had burnt all the seven eggs."

    NOT A TEACHER

    (1) I may be wrong (and I probably am), but I am uncomfortable with the use of "the" in your sentence.

    (a) I should prefer:

Santa died laughing after he learned that you had burned all of the seven eggs.

Santa died laughing after he learned that you had burned all seven eggs.

How about all seven of the eggs? It works for me.

I agree here. "All seven eggs" is what I would say. No "the."
