My question goes like this:

A. She is staying in Chicago for three years now.
B. She has stayed in Chicago for three years now.

Is there any difference with regard to the meaning? If there is, please specify clearly. I saw in a powerpoint presentation online that sentence B also means she has lived in Chicago for three years and is staying in Chicago still. If that is the case, that would mean the both sentences have the same meaning.

A means that she has arranged for the length of her stay to be three years. That period may have begun already, or it may begin in the future. The 'now' may suggest that the original plan was for a different period.

B means that her stay began three years ago, and that she is till there.

okay. thank your for replying.

I am confused with the explanation for sentence A. How did you know that it was arranged for three years of stay? also, how can it begin sometime in the future if it clearly says "is staying for three years now"?

for me, it means that it is currently taking place-like at the moment.

please enlighten me. thank you.

The problem with your at the moment interpretation is the three years- they don't work together. Let's imagine that they were planning to send her to Chicago for two years and have just changed their plans, you could have the following conversation:

A: She's staying in Chicago for two years.
B: Didn't you know that they have changed the plans? She's staying in Chicago for three years now.
