Have a look at the parts I have changed to red. They all need work. They have a problem either with:

- spelling
- punctuation
- the spacing around the punctuation

See if you can correct those.

I have these three sentences, too, please.

1) I always receive a lot of letters [STRIKE]&[/STRIKE] and mail but today I received only a few letters and mail.
This can all be one sentence and I have removed all the commas. They're not necessary. My only question is what you think the difference is between "letters" and "mail". They're effectively the same thing. Did you mean "letters and emails"?

2) [A ]university is [an] educatiOnal institution.
Yes. The words in brackets and capitals are correct.

3) I want to write [a] phone number down. I need [a little] paper please.
We usually say to "write something down" in this context. No comma is required before "please". The article "a" is correct.

I have some good advice - do not post things here in haste (too quickly). It leads to errors. When you have typed something and before you press the Submit button, check:

- spelling
- punctuation
- capitalisation
- if you have copied something from an exercise or a text book, make sure you have copied it exactly.

Please remember to put a space after every full stop.

I usually agree with emsr2d2, but I don't here

I think it's better with a comma.

You're right. I now disagree with myself.

I need a little paper, please.

-a million thanks for being helped by you, emsr and Jed.
To answer your your question:these examples are among my exam of grammar, so as my book indicated that mail is noncount nouns where as letters are count noun. This mean we can't say mails, is this right?
