    timezone

    Dear Teacher,

I have a silly question: I want to tell somebody that I will call him when eight AM in Hong-Kong.
    1. I will call you at 8 morning HK time
    2. I will call you at 8 AM according to HK timezone
    3. Anything else?

    Thank you,
    Gabor

    Re: timezone

I should have added that oh eight hundred is probably not very common except among people who have been involved in some way, however indirect, with the military.

    Re: timezone

I used to work at an airport (non-military) and we always used the 24-hour clock when speaking to each other because the flight times were always done using that system.

"The flight leaves at sixteen twenty-five UK time. I'll call you at eighteen hundred French time to confirm that it left on time."
