What action phrase is normally used to describe a celebrity who sneaks out/steals away/ slides away? I can't remember the phrase.

Your help in letting me know the phrase will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is a term reserved for celebrities who do this, but somebody will probably prove me wrong.

I can't think of a term either. Do you mean what they do when they sneak out of the back door of a venue in order to avoid the photographers waiting at the front? Do you mean when they fly off on their private jet to an exotic island in order to get away from the press attention?

No, just an act of sneaking away from reporters

I still can't think of one generic term, especially one that would be used only for celebrities.

Anyone can be said to "slip away, sneak off, slope off, sneak out".

I wouldn't say that that has the same feeling as sneaking away. That suggests to me that she probably came into their view but managed to avoid actually talking to them or having her photo taken. The "sneaking away" seems to mean that the person took a route which actively avoided the reporters even seeing them.

That's just my personal opinion of "dodge" in this context though.
