    Question on a manuscript title

    Hi Teachers,
I have this title for a manuscript, 'Skills for Reading and Listening'. Could you suggest me another one that is simpler or shorter if possible please?

    Thanks in advance

You can't get much shorter than 'Receptive Skills'.

Re: Question on a manuscript title

A little like the common error "Explain me", "Suggest me" is not correct.

    Could you suggest another title?
Could you suggest another title to me?

I suggested a trip to the cinema.
I suggested to him that we might go to the cinema.
He suggested a good restaurant to them.

Don't worry. I taught in Spain and I know that these things are a nightmare for Spanish native speakers!

Thank you for you correction and thank God you did teach in Spain!! It isn't certainly the best way to start 2012. But as my nickname says, I'm still learning.
Everything learnt, everything to be learn.
PS I don't if this last sentence makes sense in English.

Your "Everything learnt" sentence doesn't really make sense, but I get the idea! As I'm not sure exactly what you meant, I haven't tried to amend it, I've only corrected "to be learn" to "to be learnt".

In Spanish is , 'Todo aprendido, todo por aprender'. We think we have learnt everything, but in fact everything has to be learnt. Is it clearer now?

Re: Question on a manuscript title

I get it in Spanish, but I can't really make it comprehensible in English because "Everything learnt" doesn't really work.

Everything has been learnt; everything has yet to be learnt.

That's my best attempt, but even I don't like it!
