    ]to be conference-room-conversation-literate for 2012. 10Xers, 22 miles

    Hello,

I couldn't get what the writer wants to say here

''This is a book you need to read to be conference-room-conversation-literate for 2012. 10Xers, 22 miles, and Leading Above the Dead Line are going to become the metaphors your colleagues use to impress''

The topic is what mindless phrases and buzzwords will be used in business meetings in the following year.

And I have absolutely NO idea what any of them are supposed to mean!
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

That's probably because one of the authors, Jim Collins, coined them specifically for this book and probably hopes that they will become the "think outside of the box" or "paradigm shift" of 2012.

(BTW "10Xers" are companies who performed 10 times better than others in their industry. "Leading above the death line" is his convoluted way of saying "be prepared"; that is, have cash reserves on hand and a flexible business plan. Duh. Sounds ever so much more technical and corporate and "you need to buy my book!" using his terminology, no? )

I'd better stop now or my eyes will get stuck in that upward position.
