the accepted think / thinking / thought

The findings changed the accepted think / thinking / thought that humans have become taller and larger.

Which of the three nouns should we use in this sentence? I'd like to choose thinking, but I'm not sure.

    Thank you in advance.

You would be correct if you chose "thinking". The phrase "The current thinking" is very common. It means "opinion" but usually refers to the fact that a lot of people, possibly experts, have the same opinion about something.

Climate change is a big issue. The current thinking is that there is now little that we can do about it and we will have to let nature take its course.
