What does "registered" mean in the following context? And the "them" refers to computers, right?

To keep the downloading process above board, it also offered protections, allowing music lovers to play their songs on multiple computers and iPods registered to them. But they wouldn't be able to e-mail purchases.....

    Thank you.

    Re: registered

In your example, "registered to" means "assigned to, or officially noted as belonging to".
"Them" refers to the registered owner of the computers, not the computers themselves.
