Way the word 'rather' can be used

The word 'rather' can be used in many sentences with different meaning.

I would rather to wear jeans. (In this sentence means I prefer to wear jeans)
I studied Math rather than doing nothing. (In this sentence means I studied Math instead of doing nothing.)
I called him rather strange way. (It means I called him quite strange way)

What are the other ways to use rather in English?

Your third sentence is not natural English, I am not sure what you are trying to say there.

For meanings of words, dictionaries are useful - for example: rather - definition. American English definition of rather by Macmillan Dictionary
