Hello
Please go over the sentences below.

1) As he was deeply moved, tears were rolling down his cheeks.

2) As his left leg was seriously injured, he had to cut it off.

I want to change two sentences into new ones using 'participial construction' as;

1) Deeply moved, tears were rolling down his cheeks.

2) Seriously injured, he had to cut his left leg off.

Both are correct? Or neither is okay? I think 1) is okay, but 2) is awkward.

Thanks in advance.

#2 would make more sense as "It being seriously injured, he had to cut his left leg off".
Although, I should think that it would be a very rare occurrence for somebody to cut off their own leg.
