this way you gonna kill me

    Hello everybody!
The title in this question is a sentence of a verse in a brasilian song wrote by Michel Teló, it's called in portuguese "ai se eu te pego".

For his good luck this song became a great success around a lot of countries and now it's being sung in English too.

Although I don't like this kind of music I'm curious if american people understand the idea in this especific song.

Because there is a part in this song that Michel says:
"delicious, this way you gonna kill me"
" Oh, if I catch you"

Then if people don't understand that it's a metaphor... I think it will sound strange.
What do you think about it? Does someone know this song? Did you like?

Re: this way you gonna kill me

Well, until now I didn't receive anyone answer about this question
Maybe people didn't understand me or my doubt

I'm not here to say bad things about that singer or about his song
I just want to know if native americans get understanding that sentence above
or if this song has some sense for them.

If someone can tell me something about it, thanks!!!!

Re: this way you gonna kill me

    Hey there!

When I first looked at the small piece of the song here, I wasn't certain. I guessed that the song was about attraction, or love, or lovers, but I wasn't at all sure.

I highlighted the lyrics and right-clicked on them to go to the song in Google, where I got to look at the whole think in English. My guess was exactly right; the song told of a boy at a dance who was enthralled(cool word) by a young woman whom he asked to dance. He found her so alluring(another cool word) that he feared that he might die from how good she made him feel. It also suggested a little bit of violence in the feelings and possibilities that happen when people feel like that.

It seems similar to some kinds of rap or other popular music, in which the words combine intense feelings with fear or threat of violence. Brazil has a lot of machismo, maybe, just like the United States in some cases.

Cool Re: this way you gonna kill me

    Thanks for your answer!!!
You interpreted exactually what in that song is said
That song was wrote originally in portuguese and my doubt was exactually to know if native americans would be able to have the same understanding of song that us brazilians had.

So you're right... unfortunately there is "machismo" around all the world
Howerver both, nice brazilians and good americans, and other people from other countries, men and women, can make the difference. Thinking and doing different!!
