    various

Supose there are Type A pens and Type B pens.
There are various types of Type A pens.

I think it's not very good to use "type" twice.
In this case, can I say "various Type A pens"? (Is it grammaticaly correct?)
Or, should I say "variuos kinds of Type A pens"?
Or, if anyone has better ideas, please tell me. Thank you.

    Re: various

I agree with you that using 'type' twice looks awkward. A better suggestion really depends on the specific situation, though, so advice is a little difficult to offer with confidence.

What you write should make clear the taxonomy of the objects and the divisions between the levels of classification. Some examples:

'There are generally two types of pens, and several subtypes within those classifications.'

    Or, something like:

'There are basically two types of pens: ball-point pens and fountain pens, and there are variations within each type.'

    Re: various

Thank you. I understand what you say.

The situation I want to describe is close to "There are various brands of Type A pens". (Various brands from various manufactureres. One manufacturer may have more than one brands.) But I don't want to use "brand" here for some reasons.

How about "various Type A pens" and "various kinds of Type A pens"? I'd like to know if each of them is okay or not.
