    Smile When you give something, do you say "minus"?

    Hi?

    The waitress gives Lilly her stuff.

    The waitress: And here's your mail. Minus magazines.

    (This is from How I met your mother S1 Ep8)

    I think it should be "plus" instead of minus.

    It can only be 'plus' if the waitress brought the magazines as well as the mail. If she didn't bring the magazines. then it's 'minus'.
