    I dress myself

I would like to know if it's acceptable in English to say :' I dress myself'. My English teacher told me that I should only use 'I get dressed' but I didn't understand why. Here is the context:

'After I wake up, I take a shower and dress myself'

    Re: I dress myself

IN YOUR SAMPLE SENTENCE, yes, it would be better to say:

'After I wake up, I take a shower and get dressed.

But any 3 year old will tell you, "Mom, I can dress myself!"

    Acceptable, used and heard.
