    the subjunctive mood

Would it be correct to say :It is not important whether he like it or not or should it 'whether he likes it or not'?Could the subjunctive work in the former one?

    Re: the subjunctive mood

I was taught that third person singular (in present tense) has to be followed by verb + s/es. Hence I would write: It is not important whether he likes it or not.

But in the subjunctive it's not added the 's', and that's why I am wondering if I could use the subjunctive in this case.

Thank you. That's kind of ironic what I have written.

    Re: the subjunctive mood

I would use the indicative here. Lack of importance is rarely cause for a subjunctive in English.

Not acceptable in contemporary English. Use the indicative.

(N.B. The 'or not' is also redundant.)
