Hi guys!

Another sentence to you help me:
"... have people round for dinner."

Is it necessary put "round" in this sentence? Why?
If I wrote without "round", it would not be right?

Thanks a lot again!

Is it necessary put "round" in this sentence? No
If I wrote it without "round", [STRIKE]it[/STRIKE] wouldn't it [STRIKE]not[/STRIKE] be right? It would be fine.
Before anybody else mentions it, 'have people for dinner' could suggest that you are a cannibal, but only if you are, like me, someone who indulges in pedantic, somewhat pathetic, humour.
