Question on this statement, 'It was very quiet in the room'.

    Hi teachers,
According to this statement, 'It was very quiet in the room'.
Is this the appropriate question, 'How was in the room?'

    Thanks in advance

    Not a teacher.

I would say "How was it like?".

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
Then, isn't it better to say, 'How was it like in the room?'

    Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Knowing that the exercise is for listening I assume that there is no need to add 'in the room' in the question.

    Thanks

Yes, there is. A thing may be mentioned and 'What was it like?' could be taken to be asking about that thing.
