    higher growth than

    Dear teachers

Would like to know if the follow sentence is grammatically correct? Especially the usage of "higher growth"

China is expected to enjoy higher economic growth than the rest of the world

    Regards

    Re: higher growth than

Not correct. Growth is not high (unless it's on a mountain ). A growth rate can be high.

China is expected to enjoy a higher economic growth rate than the rest of the world. OR

China is expected to enjoy greater economic growth than the rest of the world.

    Re: higher growth than

I wouldn't go as far as J&K and say it's incorrect- it's a sloppy phrase, but you will come across it. However, the suggestions are improvements.

    Re: higher growth than

How about this: China's economy is expected to grow faster than the rest of the world.

    Better?
