As a non-native speaker, collocation is sometimes hard for me. In the following sentence, if I do not use "had", should I choose A or B? Thanks a lot.

Jeremy Lin (A. made B. did) 6 turnovers in the Knicks-Heat head game.

Despite the fact that I can't even tell you which (American) sport this refers to, I'm 99.9% sure that you "make turnovers" so it's A) made.

Primarily in basketball, but also used in American football (for interception of passes or fumble recoveries by the opposing team) and you can make it 100%, "make/made".
