Can we construct the sentences as I wrote below, because we can't say 'I had been believing you... or I had been recognizing her...'?

-Don't worry...I had believed you when you told me everything happening between you and your boyfriend.

-I had recognized her when you introduced her to me.

We'd be far more likely to use the simple past, "I believed" and "I recognised" (BrE spelling) in those sentences.

You don't need the past perfect any more than you need the past perfect continuous.

Actually, if we put 'already' in the sentence, it may be better.

-I had already known her when you introduced her to me.

(It means, also before you introduced her to me, I had known her.) Is that right?​
