    What is the correct way and shorten---great, great, great, great, grandmother?

    Also, what does eighth cousin "removed" mean?

    Sadly, I think we're stuck with the great-greats. We should be able to say G& or something, but I've never seen it. 'Removed' means a generation away- your parents' cousins are your cousins once removed, etc.
