    Sentence structure

    'However, it is unlikely to cause the kind of debate sparked by the previously discovered "face" on Mars,

    which some people have claimed is proof that an extraterrestrial civilization once inhabited that currently barren

    planet.'



    I don't understand the red part, I think there are some missing words, 'that it', between claimed and is.


    What is the object of have claimed???
