    in/on the list

    Do we say 'on the list' or 'in the list'? Or is either preposition fine?

    Both are possible, but 'on the list' is more common. However, I think there's a slight difference between them, maybe a teacher will clear us up on this.

    I can't think of a sentence where 'in the list' might be used.
