A: A: How is that guy so rich? Is he self made (successful by his own efforts) or did he inherit it all (have it passed down from his family)?
    B: 100% self made.
A: That’s pretty impressive but shocking. He doesn’t strike me as (appear to me to be) a really smart guy.
B: He’s smarter than he let’s on (allows others to think) and he’s got a ton of heart (determined and enthusiastic). He’s a real grinder (hard worker) and just outworks the competition. He’s also not afraid to roll the dice.

    Re: Hello!!!!!!

You usually give your threads more useful titles than that, britdam. 'Hello' as a title is meaningless, even without all those unnecessary exclamation marks (unless you are asking a question about 'Hello').

I agree with JMurray, but just want to point out that self-made is always hyphenated.

    Re: Hello!!!!!!

And it should read "smarter than he lets on" with no apostrophe in "lets".

    Re: Hello!!!!!!

Although it was clear enough in context, the word "grinder" was unfamiliar to me for this use.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
