    In two translations of the Bible the classic statement made Jesus is given in two different tenses.

    My God,my God,why did you abandon me?
    My God,my God,why hast thou forsaken me?

    What is the difference?

    Which means both the present present perfect and the simple past sometimes imply the same thing.
