    I golfed it, you know

I couldn't find the verb meaning of "golf" in the dictionary, does it mean "hit a ball hard like in golfing"?

00:01:14 You know, I was 12 when I hit my first home run.
00:01:17 I can still remember the pitch.
00:01:19 It was a low fastball.
00:01:20 It was right over the middle of the plate,
00:01:21 and I golfed it, you know,
00:01:22 right over the center field fence.

A baseball swing is more horizontal. A golf swing is down and back up. He hit the baseball with a swing that was more like a golf swing, meaning he got under the ball and pushed it up into the air.
