Re: What does "Let your sham rock" mean?

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day in America is all-day partying (all weekend, this year )

People display the shamrock (three leafed symbol of Ireland) on their clothing, hats and signs.

"Sham rock" is a play on words. It tells you to "rock" (party) and to celebrate everyone being Irish enough to display the shamrock.

And the ones less well qualified for Irish citizenship, who still like 'a pint 'o plain' or just 'the wearin' o' the green', can always sham Irishness.

Re: What does "Let your sham rock" mean?

Thank you very much for all these answers. My co-workers prepared hats for everyone (as we are going to celebrate next Friday)and mine had the menitioned above words. As English is not my first language, I wanted to be sure that it isn't anything not appropriate.
    Thank you,
    Jo
