    live/living animals etc

Usage books say to use 'live' with animals, but Michael Swan speaks of 'living creatures' quite a few times in his PRACTICAL ENGLISH USAGE.

    a live/living fish/snake
    a live/living animal
    a live/living creature
    a live/living elephant/crocodile

Are both words correct to go with the above nouns?

    Thank you in advance.

"Living" sounds better with "creatures" or "organisms."

"Live" sounds better with the others.

    (Not a Teacher)

    They're all acceptable.
