    bounce some stuff off of

Ned is a little boy who already knows something about Mel's helping activity with ghosts and he suggests helping her in some way. What is " bounce some stuff off of "? The translation goes "You might need me in several ways", but I'm not sure of it.

    gw2-12
    Ned- Need some help?
    mel - No, thanks.
Ned - Obituaries. Whoa. Are we doing some ghost business?
Mel - We are not doing anything.
Ned - I just thought you might want to bounce some stuff off of me, since, well, you know, I know.
Mel - Thanks. That's sweet. But it's kind of a solo act.

Thanks a lot! Then. bounce some stuff off of 's "of" seems to be mistyping, the speaking is so fast that I can't recognize if it's added. Do you think "of" is redundant?

    No, you'll hear both.
