    erase it from my head

    Are the following sentences acceptable?

    1. Everyone has his own unforgettable experience, including me.
    2. I can't forget it because it is so difficult to erase it from my head.

    They are grammatical and their meaning is clear.

    [AmE - not a teacher]

    I would expect to hear "difficult to erase it from my memory" more often, but of course head still works.
