You work as a Servicedesk Agent on the 14th floor of a 15-story building

    Hi Teachers,

You work as a Servicedesk Agent on the 14th floor of a 15-story building. A user from 4th floor calls in and is having a problem with his computer. To fix the problem, you need to look at the computer physically. So you tell him to bring his laptop at 14th Floor.

    My question is:
Are the use of the words "on" and "at" correct in the sentences above?

    Thanks so much.

You work as a Servicedesk Agent on the 14th floor of a 15-story building. Correct

So you tell him to bring his laptop at 14th Floor. Incorrect

The correct sentence should be: So you tell him to bring his laptop to the 14th Floor.

You would tell this on the phone even if you work on the 14th floor already?

Yes! You would tell the user to bring his laptop to your service desk on the 14th floor.

Because your desk is on the 14th floor, you would tell the user to bring his laptop to the 14th floor!

Thanks so much again. Here's another situation:

Suppose you don't know the location of the user calling you. Is it right to ask:

    What floor are you on?

Yes, or "which floor are you on?"
