    half the battle.

When you say "half the battle",does it usually mean "you completed half the course you will go through" or half success?

ybm1 ex)Everything that I have accomplished in my life began by my dreaming about it first. Dreaming is half the battle.

    Re: half the battle.

Yeah. You are somehow right. To be half the battle means to be the most important or difficult part of a process. Here dreaming or thinking about something is considered the most important part for him. So when he thinks about something/dreams bout something it means he has somehow gone through half the process.

No person ever IS half the battle. A part of the process - making a good start - is half the battle.

PS Your use of 'somehow' is somewhat strange.

    Re: half the battle.

Thanks Bobk for further explanation. Yeah, you're right. Actually I also meant the process and for sure not a person.
Sorry about that "somehow", I think it has somehow been one of my pet words . Willy-nilly it comes out.
By the way am I right about this word "pet word"? I mean a word or a phrase that you keep saying.
