Please capitalize Native American and the proper name of that Native American.

?? Chicago bears that name because of a Native American called Chickagou (Cheekwaag (is in another website)).

It's not ungrammatical. I prefer "Chicago was named for Chickagou/Cheekwaag, a Native American."

This is, by the way, at varience with information I found. It was a Native American word that was transcribed as Chicago, but it's for a type of plant that grew abundantly near the Chicago River.

Is it possible "Chicago bears" is an intentional play on the city's football team, the Chicago Bears?

If not, it threw me and, as suggested above, it should be changed.
