    some others

1-I played chess with my brother once a week. With others, I played more often.
2-I played chess with my brother once a week. With some others, I played more often.

Can 1 be used if there were people with whom I played chess less often than once a week as well as people with whom I played chess more often than that?

Can 2 be used if except for my brother all the people I played chess with played with me more often than once a week?

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

Can 1 be used if there were people with whom I played chess less often than once a week as well as people with whom I played chess more often than that? No really. 'Some others' would be better.

Can 2 be used if except for my brother all the people I played chess with played with me more often than once a week? Not really.
