    Word "responsibility"

    Dear people,
I have a problem whenever I use the word "responsibility". I simply do not know if I should use the article or not.
For example in this kind of sentences:

    1. Everyone has responsibility in society. (Do I need the article?)
    2. The captain has taken the full responsibility for the defeat of his team.
    3. The psychologist has been talking about responsibility in the contemporary society.
    4. Parents must understand that they bear the ultimate responsibility for the behaviour of their children.
    5. The man tried to evade responsibility for his child.
    6. The media was talking about collective responsibility for the last political scandal.

    Re: Word "responsibility"

I agree with Rover's versions. I think the following are also possible:

    1. Everyone has a responsibility in society. ('the' is not possible)

    2. The captain has taken the full responsibility for the defeat of his team. (I think it's better without 'the'.)

    4. Parents must understand that they bear ultimate responsibility for the behaviour of their children. (Just about possible, in my opinion.)
