Most of consumers concerned about the safety of new energy vehicles. Two months ago, a new energy vehicle in a highway suddenly lost control that it couldn't turn left or right so it struck another car. Fortunately, the driver was safe.

"Most consumers are concerned about the safety of new energy vehicles. Two months ago, a new energy vehicle suddenly went out of control on a highway and struck another car. Fortunately, the driver was unhurt."
It's better now. But what is a "new energy vehicle" and why should "new energy" cause it to go out of control?

"New energy vehicles" are electric cars. Or should I just say “electric cars?” Thank you.
