People seem to use both "in" and "on" with words like chart, graph, picture.
So is there any difference between the prepositions?
Does it matter if I say something like "you will notice in the chart" or "you will notice on the chart"?
What do you think?

COCA has 275 citations for 'on' and 157 for 'in', so both are common.

In a popular Business English coursebook (upper-intermediate level), you have to choose the correct preposition in this sentence:

You will notice on / in / by this chart how big our market share has become.
(without context)
The key says that the correct answer is on.

But in my opinion, and 5jj's opinion, this is wrong.

Any comments?:-D
