    Passive, past perfect continuous

This morning, I spontaneously created a sentence using the passive past perfect continuous.

We were talking about the new movie about chimpanzees. I had heard an interview with the filmmaker and he was talking about scientists who had been studying the same, um... troop? tribe? flock? group of chimps.

So I said to my daughter "Thsose same chimps had been being studied by scientists for some time and even the scientists were able to see new things from the footage the film-makers captured."

It's such a rare construction that I thought I'd hold on to it for the next time someone asks about it.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    Re: Passive, past perfect continuous

What is a group of chimpanzees called

    Troupe, barrel, carload or tribe.

From other sources in my quick search I also saw "Carload" as "Cartload" (I guess the name evolves along with our modes of transportation) and "harem."
