Mum or mum? Dad or dad?

Hi,

Should we capitalize these words or not (mum/dad)? I've seen both, but I haven't found the reason for that.

If you are using it as you would a name or form of address, you should capitalize:
Mum, can you come here?
I gave Dad a watch for his birthday.
Aunt Arezoo is coming to visit next week.

However, if you are using it to refer to a member of the family, do NOT capitalize:
I asked my mum to come here.
A good daughter is the best gift a dad can receive.
All of the aunts are coming to visit next week.
