    Meaning of 'trojan horse'

The open statement by Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that he is willing to listen to DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang's advice and opinions shows that he is also willing to allow the DAP to dominate the opposition, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
He said Anwar was seen to have made a crystal clear confession on the matter.

"It looks like he has made an open statement about what is currently being speculated by many. So, in the opposition coalition, it is now clear that DAP is the dominant power," he told a press conference here Thursday.

Najib said this in response to a media report stating that Anwar was willing to be DAP's trojan horse if the opposition could capture Putrajaya in the next general election.

I don't understand what 'trojan horse' means in the above context. Could someone please explain it to me?

    Thanks.

    Re: Meaning of 'trojan horse'

As far as I know, the expression Trojan horse is used as a metaphor for a concealed danger, especially one designed to undermine from within. In this context Anwar was willing to play the role of Trojan horse to destroy his own political system secretly.

    Re: Meaning of 'trojan horse'

Trojan Horse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Trojan Horse is a tale from the Trojan War about the stratagem that allowed the Greeks finally to enter the city of Troy and end the conflict. In thecanonical version, after a fruitless 10-year siege, the Greeks constructed a huge wooden horse, and hid a select force of men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. That night the Greek force crept out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, which had sailed back under cover of night. The Greeks entered and destroyed the city of Troy, decisively ending the war.
Metaphorically a "Trojan Horse" has come to mean any trick or stratagem that causes a target to invite a foe into a securely protected bastion or space. It is also associated with "malware" computer programs presented as useful or harmless to induce the user to install and run them.
