Student or Learner
hi! well, in north america, most people pronounce this word like "SA - NA".
but one of students said another teacher pronounce it "SO NA"
she was from New Zealand. does this mean, Britons, New Zealanders and Australians pronounce it differently??
I say 'saw-nuh' (British English speaker)
so definitely NOT "SO" at the beginning?
You do hear some say the first syllable to rhyme with the 'ow' of 'cow' if that's what you mean, b ut it's not that common in the UK. .
