prep + the way he treats

    1) A great man shows his greatness by the way he treats little men.

    2) A great man shows his greatness in the way he treats little men.

    3) A great man shows his greatness the way he treats little men.

Are all three sentences correct? Is there any difference in meaning between them?

    Many thanks.

    3) is wrong. You need a preposition. 'In' is OK; I prefer by.
