    Teacher, is this sentence correct?

    The teacher questioned Ivy and he made it seem like she was the thief.

    I can easily understand the meaning.

    I'm sure there are more elegant ways of saying it.

    The teacher made it seem like Ivy was the thief by the way he questioned her.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
